Where's Mikey?

This is a question that is asked a few times during the day. Not that we aren't watching him, it's just that the boy is fast! Even with his army crawl.

Here he is trying to stand up under his bouncer. The bouncer which at this point has just become decor in the living room. Mike can sometimes get him to sit in it. Not me.

Or he can be found browsing the DVD's and CD's. "Mom? Who is Selena? And what is this movie called Sex in the City?"

I think he's trying to see what is for dinner. Sadly, there was nothing in there.

Sorry baby, maybe tomorrow.

Hairy Situation!

We are trying really hard to wait until Mikey's 1st birthday. But there are times when you look at him and just think we are being cruel.

Grandpa Bucky retires!

Uncle Thaddeus had quite a busy visit. We went to the Stock Show, had Christmas and went to Grandpa Bucky's retirement send off. Talk about bittersweet. It was touching to see how many people care for him and how sad they were to see him go, but happy that he is now able to enjoy some time off after so many years! I'm sure Mikey will keep him busy. As will the new baby in June. Congrats Buck!

Another 1st...1st Pet

Not the furry kind just yet. As part of Uncle Thaddeus' visit, we also celebrated a belated Christmas with him.

Here's Mikey being introduced to his fish. He's a Male Betta. Ok, male and purple. What name would you give him? I thought it was pretty obvious. Prince!

Mikey isn't quite impressed yet. Mostly he just wants to bang on the tank. I'm sure Prince loves it.

Mikey's 1st Stock Show

We took Mikey along to his first Stock Show. He sat through the show very well for the first hour and a half. Then mom had to walk him around in his stroller.

Mornings with Mikey

Although it's pretty obvious that Mikey looks like Sr., he takes after his mommy in other ways. Like his momma, Mikey looooves breakfast!

"Are you gonna feed me or keep taking pictures?"

After his breakfast, Mikey loves to crawl around and get into whatever he can get his hands on.

"Hey did you hear that?"

"Come on, just let me hold it. I won't eat it. Promise."

Baby on the way!

No, not for us but Mikey will soon have a new cousin. His Nina Yolanda is pregnant and due June 23rd. I added a ticker under Mikey's so I can keep track and quit asking "how far along are you now?". Congratulations! We can't wait to meet our new niece/nephew.

Update to close 2009

It's been awhile since I've updated. A lot has happened.

At the end of November, Mikey turned 9 months old. This is where I've noticed he's decided to always have this "poker face" as his pediatrician calls it. You'll see in the next pics that he has this expression in most pictures.

Mikey helped Sr. celebrate his 36th birthday. Oops, was I supposed to put that out there Mike?

Mikey has become very mobile and we quickly realized that our house is not baby proofed.

Thankfully Mikey has decided that he too shares the love of Las Delicias like mom and dad. Here he is eating rice and beans. Delicioso! He's very popular with the waitresses and puts on the charm until they take him for a walk to look at the fish tank! I think I'm trouble with this kid!

Here he is in the big kid chairs at the doc waiting for his 9 month appointment. Luckily he was up to date with his shots so there was no crying.

We all got bundled up and went to the Zoo Lights at the Denver Zoo. It was a first for all of us and I'm sure we'll be there next year as well.

Nothing heavier than a 21 lb baby with a lot of clothes on arching his back to see the ceiling.

Mikey now likes playing underneath his jumper rather than in it.

He had his first visit with Santa. Let's just say he didn't cry but the "poker face" was in full effect.

And the moment we've all been waiting for.....Mikey's very 1st Christmas!

And that is the last of 2009. One of my 2010 resolutions as Mikey's mommy is to continue to love him more and more everyday and keep his blog updated more often. Happy New Year!
